Aglarond Yuirwood (AY) is a SIM designed to support Role Play in the Forgotten Realms universe; specifically, the Aglarond Yuirwood region of Faerûn, in the year 1550 DR. However, while the 'world' is set in that context, we do not use the D&D or d20 rules precisely to moderate RP - they simply aren't designed for it. Guiding Principles:

1. We are here to have fun - We aren't paid to create AY - we invest time, money, and effort in order to create a "universe" that's fun to RP in and that we enjoy as a community. Everything we do here, from the build, to the rules, to the HUD, and the rest, is all focused on that goal of creating an enjoyable environment for all.

2. Rules promote fair and equitable RP. GMs cannot always be around to moderate RP. Our rules are designed to allow many players from all sorts of backgrounds and experience to come together on a fair "playing field" and have reasonable expectations regarding what they, and others, can "do" in the world, based on their character's seniority, experience, etc. When players all agree on where RP should go, rules are rarely necessary. However, when two or more players disagree on how "free-form" RP should resolve, we have a dice system in place, with rules, that allow a fair resolution to the dispute that all can work with, balancing power levels and abilities in an equitable fashion.

3. Characters new to the SIM start at the bottom - The easiest way to begin RP in AY is by creating a new character. Pre-existing characters may not work in AY, as they will have to begin with little to no abilities or power, regardless of where they come from or what sort of character they have previously been. There can be some exceptions to this, but they must be specifically requested and receive written approval from the Admin Team. This would typically be for a "signature ability" that's central to a character, but not overpowered, and played responsibly. Generally, however, in fairness to all, characters begin at the start, and grow through OOC and IC actions over time.

When you enter the RP area, you agree to follow the sim rules as presented.

The Realm is situated in an Adult rated region BUT the general rp areas are mature of nature.

Adult activities are ONLY allowed in the special appointed areas You will get a warning when you enter an adult themed area. Check the Area Info page for locations.

You must be and act like an adult in RL to play here (18+).

This area was created to provide role players a place where they can role play without drama. This is a PRIVATE sim, but you are invited to use all the facilities and engage in adult-rated role play we offer.

We do NOT aim for high traffic and the lag that comes with it. We aim for QUALITY. We DO enforce the few rules we have to keep the quality high and to adhere to the sim owners' vision for the sims they so GRACIOUSLY provide for others' enjoyment. Donations are always welcome!

What and how you roleplay is up to YOU. You can make up short scenes, or play long stories with friends. Just make sure you know what you play, and that your play is realistic.

If you act like an ass to others or ignore the RP etiquette, it is likely that ppl will ignore you. And thats not fun... is it?
