The rules below have been created to ensure the theme of the realm is respected and preserved. We also strive to keep lag to a minimum so that we can all enjoy the Roleplay.

Short version:

These rules are subject to change and update by the Owner and Admin team at their discretion. When changes are made, players will find updates sent to the general RP Group via notice. It is YOUR responsibility to keep yourself up-to-date with any posted changes.

Full version:

1. Role play areas are for role play ONLY.
a. In our rp area of the sim, keep OOC talks to a minimum or contain it to IM when possible.
b. Use the arrival area or OOC areas for casual, ooc chatting

2. ADULT avatars ONLY (18+ in appearance AND behavior)
a. Child or child-like avatars or avatars with childlike features will be banned and reported to LL.
b. The judgment of what constitutes an under aged looking avatar is up to the sim Owner and/or or the Admin Team.

3. DO NOT wear an offensive  group tag/titler that says something like "Breeding Slut/Fuck Toy/Escort/Please Fuck Me/Fuck Meat/Cum Slut/Prey" etc .
a. We are a ROLE PLAY community and promote such. If you wear a title or tag similar to what is mentioned above and are /not/ a member of our community, you will be asked to change your title/tag to something more appropriate or to choose ‘none’ from your group titles
b. This rule applies to tags/titles with a trolling or antagonistic text like "I <3 Drama"

 

4. Please use proper language in role play that fits the theme of our realm. We strive for an immersive environment.
LOL, OMG, ROFL, WTF, WTH, etc. or emoticons like :), :D, :P,..etc., while fine for OOC chatter, do not belong in a rp environment.

5. Forbidden areas:
a. Do not enter rentals! The doors are locked! Do not sit on an object to get in!
b. Do not enter areas your character is not supposed to be! eg Faction lairs/HQ
c. The Realm is build on cliffs and a mountain, easy to climb or fly with your avatar, but in reality, your character would not be able to!

 
6. No griefing:
This includes: biting vampires(Bloodlines, Hunger, etc.), cockwalkers(walking around naked with an erected cock), annoying gestures, bling, or anything that flashes.

 
7 . Oversized/undersized avatars/bodyparts:
a. Avatars cannot exceed 3x3 meters
b. No full-sized dragons
c. Petites are allowed but MUST act and behave like an adult, and not a child/teen

d. Oversized bodyparts are not welcome. Keep it realistic according to the lore.

8. Keep your running scripts UNDER 200/7500Kb
a. This rule is to guarantee a lag free RP experience for everybody.
b. Most FULL regions only allow 100/3500K. We will NOT entertain complaints.
c. Poofers cause LAG

9. AFK Rules:

If you need to go AFK, please go to an OOC-Area and park your avatar where you are not in the way of others. And do NOT go AFK in an IC RP area. You will be EJECTED.

a. In case of an emergency, -wear an afk titler (it takes a few seconds!)
b. About Viewers on phones/tablets: DO NOT park your avatar in a rp area when you are on a phone/tablet viewer: You will be ejected from sim.

10. Spoken role play language is ENGLISH.

You may only use a translator for fantasy languages

You can use Google Translate in your browser.

11. No published characters from books, games, TV, movies, etc.
Being related to one falls under the same rule

12. NO Aliens, No BDSM, NO Futiristic avatars, NO Cartoons, robots, jeans etc etc. THIS IS A MEDIEVAL THEMED SIM!

Please make sure your character fits OUR lore of Forgotten Realms.
No: Neko, Angel, Furry, etc etc. Sorry they just dont fit.

13. We are all here to have fun and the RP must be consensual.
a. Read profiles and RP limits before engaging in a rp. If you are not sure, IM the one you want to rp with.
b. OOC communication between players is VERY important.
c. If something bothers you about your rp or its direction, IM your RP partner and TALK.
d. YOU are responsible for your rp; YOU are responsible for saying NO; and YOU are responsible for the IC reaction your character gets based on the way you play him or her. NO WHINING about how others treat you ICly. If you play a bitch ICly, expect like reactions. If you play a menace or bastard, expect the reactions and reputation ICly that will come with that persona.
e. Ignoring people in local chat is RUDE! IM the person if you think he/she didn’t see your chat or if they left the area after a post before you had time to acknowledge him/her. We are a rp community and want to promote community among our players!
f. We, the Owners and Admin Team, do NOT tolerate OOC drama. WE are here to enjoy ourselves and want the same for all our players.
g. If you have a personal problem with another player it is YOUR problem NOT ours. Talk to them, avoid them or mute them, but do NOT add to or stir drama. We are all adults. Let’s behave like that, and be kind to each other. Drama lamas get raped, shot, eaten and banned.

14. Magic:

The use of most (magic) HUDs or effect huds only causes LAG and are NOT allowed.

Magic/effects should be roleplayed.
We DO have some general guidelines we expect you to follow when using magic here. Be aware that when you want to use magic on someone in a rp scene you need to:
a. ASK permission of the other player
b. Your magic EFFECT MAY NOT be bigger than 5x5 meters (not across the region!).
c. Use magic in a REALISTIC way. Casting costs Manna.

 

In Aglarond Yuirwood was the Spellplague war. This means that all magic is different than normal:

-Some spells work, some wont

-Some spells are weaker

-Some spells will effect you

etc etc

Be creative and we dare you to not be a powerful mage!

15. NO scripted combat. This includes scripted weapons & meters: leave them in your inventory.
Weapons may be used as a prop, but we ask they be UNSCRIPTED in rp

16. ALL combat is to be/must include rp. Play fair so that everybody has an equal chance of winning. Remember: this is supposed to be fun. You can use the free RP DICE available at our landing zone, If you choose to use dice you must use the dice WE PROVIDE.
We have 2 forms of RP'd combat here in Aglarond to help support our players’ fun:
a. Pure role play where each player takes a turn and attempts to defeat the other. Casting magic needs 2 posts as the opponent needs to be able to break the casters concentration. Just be aware that always forcing others to loose is lame! You must be willing to lose a fight or get wounded. If you aren’t, you will quickly earn an unfavorable combat reputation among players and find that no one will engage you!
b. RP with the use of a RP-Dice where every step of the combat is done by the outcome of a roll. With dice, the one who rolls the highest, can determine the action and/or the one who rolls the lowest must rp a hit/defeat etc .

 

17.Single Combatant Entity per character:
Each player Alt (Avatar) may only have or control a single entity with regard to combat or skill use in Aglarond, at a time. "Companion" NPCs, whether virtual or "actual" (i.e. those rezzable 'pets' you can have following you around) are only acceptable as "color text" - possible conversation/emote partners - and may NOT use skills against other characters, or participate in any combat, etc.

Examples of inappropriate NPC Companions include (but is not limited to):
1. NPC "Guards" that "escort you (fulltime)" and fight for, defend, or otherwise impact the RP of another character.
2. Rezzed "Companions" or "pets" that defend, protect, or fight for their master/owner.
3. "Possessed" Hosts acting independently of the possessing spirit. (i.e. if a demon character is "possessing" a host, both the demon "spirit" and the possessed host do NOT receive separate actions during an RP turn.
 
The bottom line is, when it's your turn to act in an RP, you may only act as a single entity. The "parrot sitting on your shoulder" can opine and comment all it wants, but may not cast spells, defend its owner in any way, or do anything substantial in the RP beyond basic emotes and communication. The wolf can "growl" or parrot can complain, but little more.
The idea here is if you're allowed to have more than one "character" under your control in an RP, pretty soon everyone on the sim will be accompanied by an NPC "crack team of 6 ninja assassin guards" or similar, and, well, it will just be stupid.

18. The Admin team DOES NOT investigate RP issues.

You are an adult, act like it and solve it!

 

19. If you ignore or disrespect the Owner or any member of the Admin team you will get ejected, benched, and/or banned. We don’t tolerate argumentative behavior or disrespect. What the Owners and Admin Team says goes.

 

20. No Abusive/Defaming Thought Emotes:

While "color text" in thought emotes are fine, using thought emotes to "hide" insults, abuse, or defaming/demeaning comments in a way that the targeted player cannot respond to, is not allowed. Repeated abuse of Thought Emotes to harass or demean other players will result in sanctions, up to and including a ban.

Abusive rp as a result of an OOC issue gets you banned. Avoid eachother!

21. Banning? We dont want to ban...
It is very rare that we (the admin team) have to ban people.

And we try to do everything to avoid a ban.
But sadly it happens that we are forced to ban certain individuals.

Reason:
-Griefers
-Child avatars
-People who break rules, over and over again.
-People who were warned many times but refused to listen.
-People who give admin grief when they are confronted.

 

22. About BDSM & Fettish:

-We wont ban collars/cuffs, BUT you must hide them as much as possibe (especially the modern looking ones!). Crawling/Leashing is NOT ALLOWED.

All players are to ignore any bdsm related behaviour/objects.

Reason: they ruin the immersive RP and this is a Mature rated RP sim.

-Even if this is your personal RP experience, we do not allow shemales, nudists, sex-focussed avatars etc. Classy topless is allowed.

Reason: The main RP area is Mature rated

 

23. About Alts and stuff:

Yes you may use alts. BUT your alts may never interact together or be related. They have to be fully independent. This to prevent metagaming.

You may NOT use your alt to harvest for the HUD, transfer HUD items/coins etc.

24. Have fun :)

Have fun, and remember, everybody in the sim wants to have fun, its not all about 1 person. Dont wait for RP to come to you, dont be a bystander. But  be creative and help others.
