The Sanctum: Code and Law

The Code: (Code is IC)

1. Code of Silence: You never speak of internal affairs or those of the Sanctum, especially the Sanctum Assemblage, because we do not share with the surface or anyone else. Even under duress you never reveal anything. To so do is a betrayal to the Sanctum. Disrespect and betrayal will lead to consequences.  If you get caught in your affairs, keep your mouth shut. Many will do their time, but will acquire reward and reputation on release.

2. Earn your Rank: No single being is better than the rest without first proving themselves. All those in high ranks earned their rank through hard work, including the Seigneur Overlords(Crime Lords). Do not expect to be treated like a King or Queen on first meeting of the high ups. More than likely they only tolerate your presence waiting to see what you are worth.(There are RP quests and RP HUD quests to aid you in your ranking.)

3. Acknowledge Reputation: It is wise to know who is who in order to avoid insulting one of your superiors. They may not be your boss but if you acknowledge their reputation then you will gain respect from them. If you choose to insult them, expect to pay for it.  Be wise with your words and actions.

4. Mind Your Place: You are not better than everyone else and if you want more positive attention remember to mind your place and work through the the ranks for the most benefit and success. Be weary of which affairs you decide to meddle in without invitation. Pay your dues or suffer the consequences.

5. Honor among Rogues: Those of the Sanctum occasionally help out fellow Sanctum Dwellers. Best not to steal from your co dwellers for you may not like the result, for you might lose something...If you are caught stealing from one of your fellow dwellers, punishment will be swift and severe. Helping other dwellers may serve you well in your climb to the top. You want to make friends and connections? Its a good plan to do so through actions and favors. Let people know who you are, make yourself known amongst your fellow dwellers.

6. Defend your Sanctuary: This cove is here to be your Sanctum and the Sanctum for your fellow dwellers. Should the Sanctum face attacks or infiltration, defend the walls as if they are your own, because this is your home. Reveal nothing. Fight for what is yours. Your skill class makes no difference, everyone has skills, use them to defend The Sanctum. Visitors looking for trouble will find themselves under your control, so deal with them how you see fit. (and OOC consent) Always remember: Defend your home.

7. Respect the Sanctum: Do not bring unauthorized enemies into our walls unless you have a purpose to do so that benefits the Sanctum, or on orders. This place can be your salvation, your hope, your refuge. It can also end you in a whim. The Sanctum will not take responsibility for foolish actions. They may just feed you to the enemy or the fish.

8. Sanctum Rule: Justice will be served, even in the Sanctum if necessary. Infighting is not tolerated. If you must fight take it into a duel and decide on the rules prior and keep it between you and the other person. The Crime Lord's justice and word is law. Follow it or suffer the consequences.

Sanctum Law and Order

Breaking of the Code
Can result in imprisonment, lashings, slavery, and heavy fines. There are no trials in the Sanctum, except  trial by combat when the Crime Lord decides it applicable.

Treason
Can result in extended imprisonment(up to 7 days), lashings, banishment, slavery(duration decided by the Crime Lord), other decided punishments, or death. There are no trials except trial by combat, when Crime Lord decides it is applicable.

Assault
If an assault is witnessed, then stories can be taken from the witnesses and both parties involved by a member of higher rank. The punishment of one or both parties is up to the higher-ranked member and can include anything from fines to imprisonment to enslavement. If an outsider is involved in the assault, there is a chance that they may face harsher punishment than the Sanctum dweller. Cases can be taken up with the Crime Lord, but that may or may not backfire.

Fail to Pay Debts
Failure to pay for dues and or debts will result in imprisonment, exceeding no more than 48 hours, and slavery until dues are paid. It may also result in being tracked down, bagged, and brought before the Crime Lord, whether it is a Sanctum member, or an outsider.

OOC Info: If you wish to work against the Sanctum expect the IC consequences which can be quite nasty. Decide the purpose of your roleplay before you commit an action against Sanctum. The Sanctum is full of mob bosses.

IC actions have IC consequences.

Please don't be OOC rude, have fun, and be polite with your fellow faction members.

We understand you are not your IC character, but neither are we, so please do not bring it into OOC. This is a place of criminals, rp may be tense at points. You have RP limits so do we. You respect ours and we will respect yours. Consequences will be discussed OOC.

If you feel the need to IC Vandalize/Destroy/Steal or break into a building or place within the Sanctum you must first get OOC permission from Dia Latour.

Consent is a thing.

GOLDEN RULE: HAVE FUN BEING A VILLAIN! BECAUSE WE LOVE HAVING YOU
